Why choose internal french folding room dividers?
French divider doors are especially favoured by those who have an open plan home, or want to create the illusion of an open plan space.
French folding room dividers are side hung and the sidelights can then be folded back onto themselves in a concertina style. This makes them more space efficient than a traditional french door which opens out on its hinges. Instead, the french folding room dividers will fold to the sides of the door frame. This creates a true openness between spaces and is perfect to make the most of natural light and create an open feel between rooms.
They are an especially popular choice in compact spaces where a door swinging outwards would be impractical, such as in a narrow hallway or small kitchen. Because they will fold flush against the wall, they take up very little space and help your home feel bigger.
Internal french folding room dividers are available in a variety of styles. Glazed options will help you to maximise light and our solid oak designs maintain a sense of privacy with the option to open the space.
Is it possible to fit a folding door without a professional?
Yes, it’s not as complicated as you may imagine to fit a folding door. It is certainly easier to do it with an extra set of hands but if you are confident in your DIY skills, it can be done by yourself.
If you don’t feel confident in your DIY ability, it’s always better to contact a professional to fit the door for you.
