Walnut is prized for its natural variation throughout the wood from warm chocolate tones through to delicate blond streaks. This creates a rich colouring that makes any door stand out.
Our walnut doors are made from engineered walnut so you can enjoy the exquisite depth of walnut, with none of the drawbacks of a solid wood door. Unlike a solid wood door, engineered walnut doesn’t crack or warp. This is because it is created with a strong core of bonded wooden strips which is then topped with a natural walnut veneer, and finished in a clear lacquer.
It doesn’t look any different than a solid wooden door but is more durable.
Our fire doors come in a variety of sizing and luckily, finding out the perfect size for your home has never been easier. So that you can find the right size for your doorway, you can check out our door measuring guide.
All of our doors come without hardware so you can reuse hardware on your previous door or choose new hardware that perfectly suits your home.
If a door has an FD30 rating that means that it is able to prevent the spread of fire for a minimum of thirty minutes. All Vivid Doors fire doors are also 44mm thick as an additional safety measure.
In domestic properties, there are some occasions where fire doors are a requirement. In homes over two stories, to fully comply with safety regulations, fire doors are necessary between stairwells and rooms. This is also true between houses and garages and in properties with loft conversions.
It’s as important to take the safety of an internal door into consideration as it is when purchasing an external door. You wouldn’t buy a front door without locks, so why buy an internal door without the right safety precautions?
Fire doors are built to stop the spread of fire so that you can block off the area on fire and safely escape before calling the fire department.
They’re highly recommended to hang between kitchens, the most common source of household fires, and any rooms they’re connected to. The added benefit of this is with the additional thickness of our fire doors, they also offer great sound insulation.
